Well, Karen did it, she finally had her little baby girl. She was on the list for Monday for being induced. That didn't guarantee anything but mom had the kids sleep over just in case. She was fortunate enough to get the call that morning and go in. After 3 hours of labour and 2 minutes of pushing little baby Miranda Lynn Hill was born 9 days overdue. Karen didn't even get a chance for the epidural to kick in so she felt EVERYTHING and then was numb afterwards. The contractions got painful enough that they had her start pushing. Well as soon as she did, that baby was right there. She had 5 nurses and eventually an intern show up and he was even almost late. The doctor never even made it there. He was about 5 minutes late and came running directly from his office. All in all pretty funny though.
Miranda was 8 pounds 10 ounces (the smallest of Karen's three) and 21 inches long. She's definitely tall and skinny like her siblings were. She has the smallest head of the three of them too but she has this LONG thick bushy black hair with frosted tips and blonde highlights. She looks more like a Hill and not much Hunt. The other two were a combination of both but she is definitely more Hill. Karen says she never cries and we're hoping she's more like Karen's personality, nice and calm.
I had the day off work today to help with the kids. Mom had her shift with the Temple and so I went to her house and took Veronica to school and then Cache came with me to work until J & D showed up, which was for only an hour. Cache then came at my place until Karen called around noon and said they were almost home and I could bring him over. So he and I went there and I saw this hairy little girl. She has black hair on her legs and her back. Just fuzzy. So cute and funny. She looks two weeks too, especially since she was 9 days overdue. She screamed her head off when Karen gave her a bath. She definitely has a louder cry than Ivy does. Karen even looks her best. She doesn't look beat up at all and looks, and feels according to her, much much better and comfortable. I'm glad Bob stayed a couple extra days too and is going home tomorrow instead of Monday. It was nice for him to be able to enjoy the thrill of all of this with us and he was able to help mom out a lot yesterday with the kids. It's been pretty good week I have to say.
Just a couple of pics of Ivy and how chunky she is now. Diana knit the cute little mohawk touque for her. She's not a hat lover though.
